What happens at each stage of the Fibre upgrade proccess?

Survey:
Once the Body Corporate (BC) or Owners Corporation (OC) agree for the premises to have the FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) upgrade installed, a comprehensive survey will be conducted. This will include both external and internal assessments to determine the most suitable installation approach. Decon will notify the BC, OC or the nominated point of contact (POC) via email with the confirmed survey date and time.

Design:
Upon completion of the site survey, a design for the building is drawn up and is sent to nbn for approval. Once approved, a copy will be sent to the Body Corporate/POC for sign off. Should changes be required the design will be redrawn and must be approved by the Body Corporate representative and nbn.
Every building is different. Decon would like to implement the best possible solution for your building. As a result, design times can vary and cause delays to construction depending on the complexity of the project.

Construction:
Once Design has been approved by all parties, an installation plan and schedule will be sent to your Body Corporate representative. They will receive a booking instructions email, which includes access to our QR code booking system, and they are responsible for distributing this information to occupiers/residents to make a booking for the installation.
Contractors may choose to do external work on a separate day/s to scheduled internal works depending on what is required. This will be discussed with the Body Corporate representative.

Construction Complete:
Once FTTP equipment has been installed both externally and internally, Decon and nbn will undergo their process of quality assurances, network testing, and document collation. nbn will then contact your Body Corporate Representative when it is at the Ready To Connect (RTC) stage, who should inform owners/tenants to place an order with their preferred RSP to get connected to the Fibre upgrade.
Should you require an update as per the status of your building, please liaise with your Body Corporate representative.
